Dear all,

Lots of bits of significant news this month! (We know it’s first of September, not August, but didn’t quite get the newsletter out last week!)

Our first conference went really well, you can see a short report about it on the conference page, we’ll hopefully manage to get some of the slides shared on that page too soon (sorry we haven’t yet). Three of the recommendations around the conference were to hold it again next year, try and hold in further south somewhere with good rail links to the SE and SW (maybe Midlands?) and to try and have a largely fresh (small) subcommittee to organise it. Have you got a (cheap or free!) venue you might be able to help out with for next year’s conference? Drop Andy a line please!

Our 2026 Annual Report and Plan is now published! Read this to find out what we’ve delivered to NLISN in the last year, and what we plan to do in the next.

We would also like to invite you to our annual AGM (annual general meeting) where we will present this plan and invite feedback from the entire NLISN network on Wednesday 16th Sept 12:30-1:30 over Teams. Book onto the AGM here: https://lancaster-uk.libcal.com/calendar/libraryevents/nlisn-agm26

If you can’t make this meeting, you can give feedback on this plan, either before or after the meeting, by filling in this Google form. We will share the recording to registered attendees and on our YouTube channel.

As part of next year’s plans, we’re starting paid for training for organisations or individuals outside of our core peer support work. The hope is that we can use this to slowly build our funds for other work. Check out our new Training page for details of our offer and if it looks good to you, feel free to pester your workplaces to book us in or pass it onto others you think might be interested 😉

We also have a busy events schedule taking shape for next year. The next in-person event is in London on 21st October! NLISN is looking for speakers for this in-person event Intersections: Identity, Neurodivergence & Library/Information Work – at City St George’s, London, 21st October 2026, 10am to 4pm. First-time speakers especially welcome, look out for more details to the mailing list!

Propose a session by 22nd Sept – https://forms.gle/wZXCb8dU6yE75t4v7
