Case Studies

NLISN are collecting case studies that showcase stories from the network.

We would like to demonstrate what is possible to improve and achieve, show others like us that they are not alone, and demonstrate how NLISN is making a difference to neurodivergent librarians. If you have a story to share about this then we’d love to hear from you.

We would like to hear any stories, big or small. Some examples of stories you could share could include, but are not limited to:

  • Something you learned about yourself through engagement with the network.
  • A reasonable adjustment you learned about from the network that made working life easier for you.
  • Available support you learned about through the network and then went on to access.
  • A positive experience of attending a network event.
  • Someone you have met through the network and been inspired by.

The case studies will be authored between yourselves and us. We will collect the details either over email or a remote call, whichever works for you. We will check you are happy with the result before publishing. They will be around 500 words each, and structured in this format:

  1. Introduction
  2. About you
  3. The problem you had been experiencing
  4. The moment in NLISN that made the difference
  5. What you learned from this experience
  6. What changes you made afterwards
  7. How this made things better for yourself
  8. Conclusion

We will share these final stories openly, and better if they are not anonymised as there is a risk that context will be lost otherwise. However, if you have a story to share, that is suitable for anonymisation and that’s what you want and need, then we can make that happen too.

Data will be held on secure institutional systems. At any point in the process, you are free to withdraw, and this will result in us deleting all of your data. If this request comes after publishing, we will remove the case study but at that point will not be in control of any downloads or copies made.
