Welcome to our restarted newsletter! We’ll aim to do one of these a month, keeping everyone updated with NLISN – if there is anything you want mentioned in a future newsletter that you think is relevant to a group of neurodivergent LIS workers, then please let us know (email andywalsh999@gmail.com for now).
NLISN has been involved in lots of things over the last month or so, including presenting at an ALDinHE CoP meeting, trying a body doubling session on our Discord, drafting a journal article, organising our first conference, planning online events, and converting to a Community Interest Company (CIC) to keep the banks / HMRC happy!
We’ve two online events coming up soon, “The experiences of neurodivergent professionals in academic libraries” on Wednesday 25th Feb, and “Neurodivergence and Entry into the LIS Profession” on Wednesday 18th March. Follow the links for more information and (free) booking.
Our first two day conference is now well underway in it’s planning and we’d like you to join in! Our call for contributions is live, or check out more information on our evolving conference webpage.
NLISN is now officially NLISN CIC, a community interest company which makes it easier to deal with money, without changing anything else we do. Alongside that, we wondered if anyone would be interested in group coaching sessions organised through us? We’d pay a neurodivergent friendly coach to run group coaching sessions, charging enough to cover that coach – so cheaper than individually organising them yourself, but we won’t know how much by until we work out who is interested. If you are interested, please pop your details in our form by early March and we’ll see if it’s worth us organising them.
